Yesterday I went to an Embryology society dinner where Embryologist and Doctors in Fertility and Reproductive Medicine get together to discuss topics on how to increase their success rates and better serve their patients. It was my first time going. The amazing part in all of it was that I was standing in the room with people who treated me like crap. When I got into the fertility field, I truly started at the bottom. I first worked as the clerical assistant and the Embryologists I worked with(even though I had the same degree as them but just lacked experience and knowledge on Embryology), treated me like I was the help. They used to talk down to me and made it known that I was not on their level. And yesterday, I had this smile on my face, as I saw them. I had the smile that said you may have counted me out, or thought that I was nothing but to God I was everything. And the reason why we are both standing here is because he wanted to make sure that my haters witnessed my growth. That’s just how amazing our God is. He will catapult us to heights that we didn’t even think possible. And when he does it, he will make sure that the people that doubted you are around to witness it too. One of my favorite texts from Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I used to question God a lot. All of this was happening through one of the darkest periods of my life. There was turmoil in my personal life and work wasn’t better. I used to want to just escape. Run away and leave everything and everyone behind. There were many days I wanted to quit and I’m so glad I stuck it out. I’m so glad I hung in there. I’m so glad I decided to trust God and walk by faith. It surely paid off. The looks on those people faces was sweet, but knowing that God always has my back was priceless! I wanted to share this story not to gloat but there may be someone who feels like they can’t go on, who feels like they can’t make it, who feels belittled, misunderstood, misjudged. You may be wondering why God hasn’t delivered you yet, why you are still dealing with this situation. You may think that God has forgotten about you, but I’m here to tell you just hold on and keep having the faith. God will never leave or forsake you and anything he brings you to, he will bring you through! When God sees that you are faithful and still praising him in your dark days, he will pour out his blessings upon you, so much so that you won’t have room to receive it. Sarah Jakes Roberts said in one of her sermons when she spoke about Joseph and how God brought him from prison to Pharaoh’s palace. She said “God accelerated him in such a way that he didn’t have to worry about how he was going to get to the palace. When God calls you forth, you don’t have to worry about what you have to do to make it to the next level. You’re going to bypass the very poodle who were laughing at you, you’re going to by bypass the very people that counted you out, you’re going to bypass the very people that said you weren’t going to make it, the very people that said that you didn’t have what it takes. You’re going to bypass them in such a way that you’re going to look up and be back in the palace. The very place that God told you that he was going to take you”. I can testify to this. There’s nothing that God can’t do and won’t do for his people. He is still performing miracles. He’s still parting red seas, he’s still moving mountains. Give him a chance to transform you and your life and place you where he wants you to be!
