Kingdom First Living

One of my favorite bible verses says “seek Ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”…and it basically means as long as you put God First and seek to do his will, he will take care of everything else. My number one goal in life is to live a kingdom first lifestyle. That means always putting God First and making him the utmost priority. He should always get my first and my best and I should always strive to do his will. It’s not always easy but I try my best everyday to live this way. Whether it’s paying my tithes consistently or doing my daily devotion, reading my bible daily, going to church regularly, or giving back whenever and however I can. Since I’ve adopted this mentally, my life has changed for the better. God constantly blesses me and opens new doors for me even when it doesn’t seem possible. He shows me that by being faithful to him and his kingdom he will take care of me. On top of the daily dosage of grace and mercy he provides me with each day, the blessings just keep on flowing. A few weeks ago my boss gave me a sheet to fill out about what my goals are at work, and how do I think I’ve improved over the past year. I procrastinated filling it out because I do not like talking about myself however it was for my annual review at work and yesterday I was told that she needed it. The next day I was told that we were having a meeting, I wasn’t sure what it was about but when I got there I realized it was to review my performance over the past year. I wasn’t nervous or anything because I know that I work hard and I give my all to my job. I got some constructive feed that I plan to not only take into consideration but put into action in the upcoming year. The surprise came when I was told that this is not only a performance review but a compensation one as well. And guess what, I got a 5% increase on my salary! To God be the glory. I was not expecting it at all and I can’t help but to praise God. I always reflect back on my journey over the past 6 years and especially in this career and it’s so amazing to see how far I’ve come. I went from working part time as a clerical lab assistant just making $17 an hour, not even enough to cover my rent. I had a one year with daycare fees and lots of expenses. There are so many times when I felt like I couldn’t see my way through but praise be to God, that he always comes through. He’s open doors and windows for me, when I thought that it would be impossible to make it through. Sometimes I question why is he so good to me becsuse at times I don’t think that I deserve it. God continues to show me over and over and over again that as long as I’m in his will and my goal is to seek after him, he will take care of me. This can be the same for you too. After you’ve tried everything else and after doing it your way for so long and getting the same results, I urge you to try it God’s way. Your journey won’t be perfect but he knows your heart and as long as you keep getting back up after each stumble and continue to put your trust in him, he will take care of the rest. Happy Friday ❤️
