When God is your GPS!

This past Sabbath, while listening to church online, the pastor said something that struck a chord in me. He talked about feeling like you’re not where you’re supposed be. The feeling that you should be further along in life. This resonated with me because I’m such an overachiever that I often times feel sad or down that I don’t have more. I know that I’ve accomplished a lot and I am proud of that but I feel like I should be further along in life, in my career, etc. I’m 38 years old,  never been married, don’t have a masters, do not own my house and these things get to me from time to time. I even get discouraged because I feel like I’m not where I should be on my spiritual journey.

He said that most of the times, we feel that way because we are comparing ourselves to others. We look at where our peers are in life, or what they’re doing and that makes us feel like we need to be where they are or even further.

Then came the profound thing. He said that if God ordered our steps, that means we are exactly where we need to be. He already accounted for our mistakes and missteps(Whew). He attributed God to a GPS; that he knows the way and he knows several ways to get us to our destination, so whenever we take a wrong turn or we go our own way, he just recalculates and redirects us! He said that with God on our side, we can never be lost because as he said in his word in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”…Praise him!!!!

I just want to leave this with you and encourage you and even myself. It doesn’t matter what your journey looks like. We are not all on the same path and success is not a straight line. There are peaks and valleys. Highs and lows. Life is uncertain and you may be unsure about a lot of things. But be sure about this, God is always by your side. He will never leave nor forsake you. Even the bad things that may happen in our lives, he will use it for good. You will be a lender and not a borrower. The head and not the tail! He can take your mess and turn it into a message. Your test into a testimony. If God brought you to a situation, rest assured that he’s already formulated a plan and has a way to bring you through it. Your path is your path and you just have to put blinders on and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Don’t worry about what anyone else has going on. What’s for you will always be for you, and when the time is right, everything will happen that’s supposed to happen. Everything in God’s time. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Continue to trust God even when you can’t trace him. And whenever you find yourself feeling down or discouraged just remember that verse. Lean on God and he will take care of the rest.

Be Blessed ♥️
